Description
The gymnasium at the Beacon School is a former 18th-century barn that features a timber frame with brick walls and outshots to the east. It has an old tiled roof and a gabled cart entry, which has undergone some alterations to the exposed timbers. The gable is weatherboarded and includes a clock. Inside, the structure consists of seven bays with straight braces supporting the tiebeams, raking queenposts leading to the lower purlins, and collar and queen struts supporting the upper purlins.
