Nos 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. (Formerly listed as Ye Olde Malt Tea House)

  1. C15 and later, timber framed refronted in brick C18. No 1 red stretchers, grey headers. Nos 7 and 9 red brick. Old tile roof, large chimney opposite door to 7 and 9. Moulded wood cornice. Two storeys. First floor band. Modern leaded casements to first floor, two 2-lights at No 1, two 3-lights to Nos 7 and 9. Plain door to No 1, barred casement on right, both with brick arches, modern shop bow window on left. Nos 7 and 9 have double doors, 3 panels each, the upper two glazed, panelled reveals, architrave surround, hood with panelled soffit, cornice. Modern shop bow windows each side. West gable of No 1 has exposed timber framing. Nos 3 and 5 in rear wing, timber framed with one curved brace, brick ground floor, plastered panels above, modern leaded casements and doors including one at first floor level with external staircase. East side also has exposed timber framing with two curved braces visible. Interior of Nos 7 and 9: remains of medieval arch braced truss.
