Description

This is an early 19th century pair of houses situated on the south side of Broadway. The houses are built of red brick with a horizontal band of grey brick on the first floor. They have an old tile roof and brick chimney stacks. The houses are two storeys high, and feature four double-hung sash windows on each floor, set within the reveals with sills and flat arches above. On the ground floor, the left-hand side has a shop door with a rectangular fanlight above it, alongside a bow window with glazing bars beneath a decorative frieze and cornice. A doorway on the right has been replaced with a sash window. The centre has two sash windows similar to those above, and the right side features a modern four-panel door with a rectangular fanlight, along with an early 19th century shop window, now featuring modern glazing bars, and retaining its original frieze and cornice.
