Description

WEST SCRAFTON WEST SCRAFTON SE 08 SE 7/143 Bridge End Farmhouse GV II

Farmhouse. Mid C17 with later alterations. Rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 1:3 first-floor windows. Quoins. Main house, to right, with rubble in deep courses, bay on left probably the conversion of a former farm building. Between third and fourth bays, board door in ashlar quoined chamfered basket-arched surround. Ground-floor windows, from left: C20 casement; 4-pane sash below deep lintel; 2 sashes with glazing bars below deep lintels. First-floor windows, from left: two 4-pane sashes below deep lintels; 2 sashes with glazing bars below lintels which seem to be reused ashlar architraves. Ashlar copings. Stacks at left end and over door. There was possibly a small window, since removed, over the door. Rear: chamfered single-light window and double-chamfered surround of 2-light mullion window on ground floor; blocked single-light surround at landing level; blocked single-light surround on first floor.
