Description
Chapman's Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-17th century, with early 18th-century and later alterations. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and has two storeys, along with 20th-century rear extensions. The front features three first-floor windows and rough quoins. A central 20th-century part-glazed porch has a gabled plain tiled roof, with an inner glazed door set in a quoined surround.
On the ground floor, to the left, there is a 4-light double-chamfered mullion and transom window, to the right a single-light window in a flush ashlar surround, and a 3-light double-chamfered mullion window. The first floor includes, from the left, a 20th-century concrete 4-light double-chamfered mullion window, a 2-light flat-faced mullion window in an ashlar architrave, and a 20th-century concrete 3-light double-chamfered mullion window. The building features ashlar coping and has stacks located between the first and second bays and at the right end.
