Description

Culverham Farmhouse is a mid-to-late 18th century farmhouse located in West Scrafton. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. The main part of the house is two storeys high with a rear outshut, featuring a 1:2 window arrangement on the first floor. The right-hand section is quoined. A central part-glazed door is set within an ashlar surround. Above the door is a re-set lintel from a former door surround, featuring recessed panels and raised characters “CF 1689”. Four-pane sash windows are set in ashlar surrounds. To the left is a narrow bay with a four-pane window on the first floor. The house has shaped kneelers and ashlar coping. Corniced ashlar stacks are located at the ends of the main part of the house. The rear elevation contains a tall, round-arched landing window.
