Description
The Old Inn, now a house, along with an outbuilding under the same roof and a further lean-to outbuilding to the left, was built in the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with stone slate roofs. The building is two storeys high, with a rear outshut, and has three windows on the first floor. The right side of the front features quoins. The central entrance has a slightly-chamfered quoined ashlar surround and a cornice above the door. The windows are mullioned, with three lights except for the single light above the door, set within ashlar architraves. Shaped kneelers and a moulded ashlar coping top the building. Corniced stacks are located at both ends of the house and over the door. The lean-to outbuilding to the left, formerly a cart-house and now a garage, has a segmental-arched opening on its right return. Within this space is a board door in an ashlar surround, providing access to an outbuilding to the left of the main house. At the rear, a tall chimney rises from the outshut. The left return of the outbuilding to the left of the house has stone steps leading to a first-floor board door. Inside the house, there are six-panelled doors with H hinges leading to cupboards flanking the fireplace in the ground-floor room on the left, formerly the bar, and a central stone staircase.
