Description

New House Gill Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and has a T-shaped plan. The building is two storeys high and features two first-floor windows, along with a rear projecting lean-to, likely used for stairs. The corners of the building have rough quoins.

The central entrance has a part-glazed door set within a chamfered quoined surround. To the left of the door on the ground floor, there is a two-light window with a flat-faced mullion and double-chamfered jambs, which includes an iron stanchion in the right-hand light and a dripstone above. To the right of the door, there is a three-light flat-faced mullion window with a dripstone above it, as well as a small fire window.

On the first floor, from the left, there is a two-light mullion window that is partly double-chamfered, followed by another two-light double-chamfered mullion window. The left side has coping, and there are end stacks. To the right, a former outbuilding that is under the same roof has been incorporated into the house and now includes a garage in the right return, which is not of special interest.
