BISHOPDALE B 6160 SD 98 SE (south-east side, off) 5/4 New House Gill Cottage 25.3.69 - II

Farmhouse, now house. Late C17 - early C18. Rubble, stone slate roof. T- shaped plan, 2 storeys, 2 first-floor windows, with rear projecting lean-to, probably for stairs. Rough quoins. Central part-glazed door in chamfered quoined surround. Ground floor, to left of door: 2-light window with flat- faced mullion and double-chamfered jambs, iron stanchion in right-hand light, and dripstone. To right of door: 3-light flat-faced mullion window with dripstone; small fire window. First floor, from left: 2-light mullion window, partly double-chamfered; 2-light double-chamfered mullion window. Coping to left. End stacks. To right, former outbuilding under same roof now incorporated into house and with garage in right return, not of special interest.
