Description

The Coach House and Stable Cottage, located to the northeast of The Grange, was built in 1884 and has undergone minor alterations in the 20th century. The structure is made of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features slate roofs with coped gables and kneelers, along with a single ridge stack and raised quoins. It is two stories tall with a seven-window front. The main southwest front has a projecting central bay that includes a segment-headed cart entrance with a raised ashlar surround. To the right of this entrance are three similar openings with double plank doors, while to the left, there is a glazing bar casement, a plank door with an overlight, and a garage door also featuring an overlight. Above, there is a central glazing bar sash flanked by three two-light glazing bar casements on either side. Inside, the building includes a fitted back room and three horse stalls separated by wooden partitions and iron railings. Adjacent to the west is a single-storey stable cottage, which has a central 20th-century half-glazed door and two flanking 20th-century casements. To the east, there is a short stone wall with a pair of gate piers topped with ball finials and iron gates.
