Description

Grange Farm Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage with an early 19th-century addition, situated on the west side of the B6160 road near Burton-Cumber-Walden. The cottage is constructed of coursed rubble stone with ashlar dressings, and has a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and originally comprised two bays, with a later addition creating a three-bay arrangement. The front of the original part of the cottage has quoins. The central entrance is a four-panel door set in a quoined ashlar surround with a lintel featuring rounded inner corners and a keystone. Four-pane sash windows are set in ashlar surrounds. The front features an ashlar coping. There are corniced end stacks added in the 19th century. To the right is a recessed bay addition, featuring smaller four-pane sash windows with projecting ashlar sills and lintels, and a hipped roof.
