Description
This is a milepost located approximately 100 meters west of Bridge End, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is made of painted stone and has a semi-circular shape on a square base with broaches. The milepost is inscribed with "S : K/2 : 8½" and is situated on the Sedbergh to Kendal turnpike road, which was established in 1762.
