Description
This is a mile post located near Low Ingsque Wood, approximately 1 mile north-east of the junction with Stainton Road and about 1 mile south-west of the junction with the A6108. It dates from the late 19th century and is made of cast iron. The post stands about 500 millimeters high and has a triangular shape. The left face displays "RICHMOND 6," while the right face shows "REETH 5." At the top, there is a triangular face marked with "NRYCC." This mile post was installed following the reorganization of highway authorities under the County Councils Act of 1888.
