Description

Brows View is a late 17th-century house located off the south side of Main Street, Linton. The house is constructed of coursed rubble with a graduated stone slate roof, and originally comprised two bays with a later addition to the right. The front features a 20th-century door set within a roll-moulded, quoined surround, with a shallow triangular lintel. Flanking the door on the ground floor are probably 20th-century windows with flat-faced mullions. Above, two four-pane sash windows are set in plain surrounds. End stacks are present, with the right-hand stack built of well-crafted ashlar and corniced. The added bay to the right has 20th-century openings and a stack. The interior of the house was not inspected during a recent survey.
