Description

This guide post, located on Linton Main Street, dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of gritstone. It stands approximately 80 centimetres high and has a triangular shape with a pointed top. The left face features incised capital letters spelling "GRASSINGTON," while the right face displays the name "BURNSALL." The guide post marks a turnpike road that was established in the late 18th century, connecting Addingham with Askrigg.
