Description
The bridge at Ford over Linton Beck is a pedestrian bridge dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later repairs. It is constructed of gritstone rubble, featuring larger blocks in the parapets. The bridge has a single shallow arch with a small flood arch to the east, both of which have voussoirs set back and a slightly projecting drip-course. The parapet consists of three or four courses of stone with rounded copings. This bridge was designed to carry a route towards Burnsall along the south bank of the Wharfe and was later replaced by a late 19th-century bridge that accommodates north-bound traffic towards the river crossing at Grassington.
