Description
Peace Cottage is a house that dates from the late 17th century and was remodeled in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and is arranged in a 2 x 2 bay format. Notable architectural details include quoins and an off-centre board door set in a plain surround. The flanking and first-floor windows are almost square, consisting of two lights with a narrow flat-faced central mullion and casements. There is also a small rectangular chamfered window on the first floor to the left. The house has corniced end stacks, and on the right return, there are remains of a shallow external stack to the left of centre, along with a porch and inserted windows to the right. The cottage is included for its group value.
