Description
Dove Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with various later alterations and restoration completed in 1980. It is constructed of coursed limestone and gritstone rubble, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins. The roof is made of stone slate, with stone gables and stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays.
The central doorcase has been considerably altered and includes a large lintel and quoins on the north side near the base, along with a 20th-century plank door. On either side of the door, there are three-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, which have 20th-century two-pane casements. Above these, there are three shallow 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, also fitted with 20th-century two-pane casements. While the mullions have all been replaced, the surrounds remain original. The cottage is included for its group value only.
