Description

The Fox and Hounds Public House is a public house built in 1834. It is constructed from limestone rubble and is whitewashed, featuring a graduated stone slate roof. The building has an L-shaped layout, with the main facade facing southwest. It is two storeys high and has three first-floor windows on each side. The corners of the building are marked by quoins.

The entrance features a four-panel door set within an architrave that includes pilasters, an entablature with an incised date, and a cornice. The windows are four-pane sashes with plain stone surrounds, and there are paired windows on the ground floor to the right. The roof is hipped to the left, with an eaves stack located far left, a short ridge stack positioned between the central and right windows, and another stack at the far right.

On the left side of the building, there is a boarded door left of centre, accompanied by a small square six-pane window to the right. The remaining windows follow the same pattern as the front, with two on the ground floor and three on the first floor. There is a ridge stack to the left, and the eaves stack is situated between the two right windows. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
