Description

This milestone, dating from the late 19th century, is made of painted cast iron and is bolted onto a millstone grit back plate. It is inscribed with the following information: "LANCASTER & RICHMOND ROAD, INGLETON INGLETON HAWES 9¼ MILES 7 MILES LANCASTER RICHMOND 27 MILES 31 MILES."
