Description

Milestone from the late 19th century, located on the B6255 in Ingleton. It features a painted cast iron plate that is bolted onto a millstone grit back plate. The inscription reads: "LANCASTER & RICHMOND ROAD, INGLETON INGLETON HAWES 8 MILES 8 MILES LANCASTER RICHMOND 26 MILES 32 MILES."
