Description

Ling Ghyll Bridge is a bridge located on a pre-turnpike road in Horton in Ribblesdale. It was rebuilt in 1765 and is constructed of rubble with stone dressing. The bridge features a single span segmental arch and has a raked string course of dressed stone along the parapet, topped with rubble coping. There is a small wing wall on the northwest side. On the north wall, there is a panel inscribed with the words: "ANNO 1765 TIiYS BRIDGE WAS REPAIR ED AT THE CHARGE OF THE WHOLE W EST RIDEING."
