Description

Milestone from the late 19th century. It features a painted cast iron plate that is bolted onto a millstone grit back plate. The inscription reads: "LANCASTER & RICHMOND ROAD, INGLETON INGLETON HAWES 6¼ MILES 10 MILES LANCASTER RICHMOND 24 MILES 34 MILES."
