Description

HAWES B 6255 SD 88 NW ( east side) 11/142 Tarney Fors Farmhouse II Former farmhouse. Late C18 - early C19 with later additions and alterations. Coursed rubblestone stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays with 2-bay addition to left having later rear outshut. Main 2-bay house: quoins; central board door with untooled lintel and projecting slate above flanked on each floor by 16-pane sashes with glazing bars and similar lintels and cills; end stacks. Addition has doorway on right now blocked and with window: on left to each floor a window with untooled stone lintel and projecting cill, ground-floor window of 2 lights, one a casement the other a boarded larder window on 1st floor a fixed 16-pane window ( one pane opening); end stack to left. Rear: multipane windows with stone lintels and cills; outshut not of special interest. Right return: through-stones to masonry. Interior: Stone flag floors: stone stair in addition. Marked on O.S. Map as Tarney Force.
