Description

The limekiln located west of the bridge in Hawes Appersett is a disused structure from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a circular plan, built into the hillside. There is a walled approach leading to the hearth, which has a semicircular arch made of rubble voussoirs. The top of the limekiln has a circular hole.
