Description

Appersett Viaduct is a railway viaduct built around 1875 by J S Crossley. It features heavily-rusticated ashlar and has five semicircular arches arranged in a slightly-curving plan. The structure is supported by tall battered piers, with the central pier displaying cutwaters. It is finished with terminating pilasters, a band, and a coped parapet. The viaduct is part of the Hawes Branch of the Midland Railway.
