Description

The Villa is a late 17th-century house located in Hawes Apperset, with subsequent alterations. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof. The house has two storeys and originally featured a 1:2 window arrangement on the first floor, although the left-hand bay may be a rebuild or addition. A central door is part-glazed. On the ground floor, to the right is a six-pane fixed-light window set within a surround that originally held a two-light chamfered mullion window, now without its mullion and featuring a crude hood-mould. To the left of the door is a three-light casement window in a slab surround. The first floor has four-pane and six-pane sash windows in slab surrounds. The building has end chimney stacks. It is included on the heritage list for its group value.
