Description
High Bella Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse with minor 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, which is now painted and partly rendered, and features a pan tile roof with two brick gable stacks.
The building has two storeys. The front facing the street has an off-centre doorway that contains a 20th-century part-glazed door, flanked by two-light Yorkshire sliding sashes with glazing bars. Above, there are two smaller similar sashes at the eaves. To the right, there is a plank door and a shuttered opening, with another small two-light Yorkshire sash with glazing bars above. All openings are topped with painted timber lintels.
At the rear, there is a single-storey addition under a catslide roof, which has a tall wall stack. To the left of this addition is a former animal house that features double plank doors and a single window to the left. The return side has a small two-light Yorkshire sliding sash with glazing bars and a 20th-century part-glazed door to the right. The rear wall includes a 20th-century three-light casement window. The interior has not been inspected.
