SD68NE DENTDALE 162-1/10/40 (North side) 14/06/84 Barn approx. 5m west of Craggs Hill (Formerly Listed as: DENTDALE Craggs Hill and Barn to west)

Barn, now workshop. C19; renovation or conversion in progress at time of inspection (September 1994). Watershot coursed mixed rubble with small quoins, stone slate roof on main range, slate on outshut. Rectangular plan on east-west axis (along roadside) with an added outshut with catslide roof along the south side. The north front has a large segmental-headed wagon doorway in the centre, with quoined jambs, rubble voussoirs and a floating drip-course above; small square breathers, and 2 slit breathers to the left. The east gable wall (towards the house) has 3 shippon doorways with rectangular lintels and a continuous dripcourse over them, small square breathers on 2 levels, and an arched owl-hole in the gable, and the end of the outshut has a doorway to the left, a window to the right and another window above that. INTERIOR: not inspected.
