Description

Ellers is a farmhouse, now a dwelling, with an attached outbuilding, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century. The building has been altered and possibly raised. It is constructed of mixed random rubble, with the front white-washed and a stone slate roof. The layout is a single-depth, two-unit plan oriented on a north-south axis, facing east, with the outbuilding attached at the north end and a lean-to addition at the rear of the first unit.

The exterior features two storeys and three windows. There is a wide gabled porch that is slightly offset to the right, a square four-pane sash window to the left, and a narrow fire-window next to it. To the right, there is a smaller four-pane sash window, and above the left side of the porch, there is another four-pane sash window, with large twelve-pane sashes on both the left and right sides. The building has gable chimneys, with the left chimney corbelled from the first-floor level. To the right, there is a low outbuilding that includes a garage door.

At the rear, the building appears to be on lower ground, featuring a basement storey. A large lean-to covers the lower part of the south end and the centre, next to which is a small stair-window, a square window for the basement, and another window above it, along with a doorway leading to the outbuilding.

The interior has not been inspected but is said to contain "the remains of a farmhouse known as Matthews," according to a 1984 listing. Ellers forms a group with a barn located approximately 5 meters to the west.
