SD 68 SW CASTERTON 16/27 Railway underbridge to west of Lodge to Whelprigg (q.v.)

Railway underbridge. For Ingleton branch of Lancaster to Carlisle railway. Rock-faced stone with some ashlar. Round arch has rock-faced voussoirs; frieze and cornice over. Parapet has ashlar coping. Raking abutments. Timber gate piers and enriched timber gates to entrance to Whelprigg. Included for group value.
