Description
Neals Ing Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1835 by G Webster in the Jacobean style. It features slobbered rubble brought to course, stone dressings, and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys tall and consists of three bays. The central bay is recessed and flanked by gabled outer bays, with a projecting porch that has a Tudor arch and a hoodmould with pendant stops. There are two shields located between the hoodmould and the cornice, and the porch contains a panelled door in Gothic Revival style.
On the upper floor, there are two-light chamfered windows with cavetto mullions and transoms, each with a hoodmould. The outer bays have similar windows, with three lights on the ground floor and two on the upper floor, along with a single light in the gables. All windows have hoodmoulds and wooden casements, except for the gable windows, which have sashes without glazing bars. The gables are topped with coping and feature three finials with pendants. The longitudinal section of the cross roof supports four massive ridge stacks, each with three stacks set diagonally.
To the left and right of the main structure, there are single-storey, one-bay extensions in a similar style, dating from the mid to late 19th century. Inside, the crosswalls rise to the roof apex, and the decoration is in Gothic Revival style. The farmhouse was described in a notice to let in 1835 as "newly built."
