Description

STAINFORTH SD 86 NW 2/16 Stock Hill House and Barn 20.2.58 GV II Formerly house and barn, now house. Early C19 with late C19 alterations and late C17 origins. Slobbered rubble, stone dressings, stone slate roof. Gable end to street. 2 storeys formerly double fronted but outer bay in identical style added to left. Door set within late C19 porch of rusticated stone; chamfered jambs and hipped roof. All windows have projecting plain surrounds and 16 pane sashes. Shaped eaves modillions. 3 equally spaced C19 gabled dormers with casements. Gable end ridge stacks and ridge stack left of centre at position of former left-hand gable. Former barn to right is C19 with C17 origins and contains entrance with chamfered surround and Craven lintel inscribed F 16 and C17 double chamfered 2-light T E 78 mullioned window.
