Description
Old Post Cottage is a cottage that was formerly a post office, dating from the mid-18th century and mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and flint with brick dressings and features a slate roof. The building is L-shaped, with the base of the L being the 18th-century part located on the roadside, which has blocked openings.
On the garden side, there is a 2½ storey gable end of the 18th-century building to the left, and a wide bayed 19th-century wing to the right, which is 2 storeys high. The gable end features a 3-light casement window on each floor, a tile-hung gable with a 2-light casement, and a half-hipped roof with a large ridge stack. Immediately to the right, there is a 19th-century planked door set in a gabled open porch made of corrugated iron and timber. To the right of the door, there is a 2-light casement window and another one above it. The roof is hipped with a stack on the hip.
