Description
There are four tomb chests located in St John's churchyard in Itchen Abbas. Two of these tomb chests are situated to the north of the church, and two are to the east. The tomb chests date from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The one to the north of the transept is from 1792 and commemorates Williams Minchin. The tomb chest to the east of the chancel is from 1816 and is dedicated to Elizabeth Rogers. Another tomb chest, located to the southeast of the chancel, dates to 1811 and is for Ann Moody. The final tomb chest, also to the east of the chancel, is from 1837 and honors Mary Bear. All of these tomb chests are made of stone.
