Description
Beechview is a cottage and former post office dating from the late 16th century and later. It features a rendered timber frame and a corrugated tile roof. The building has two storeys, with the upper storey previously open to the roof. The windows display irregular arrangements, mostly from the 20th century, but there are two surviving casements from the 18th or 19th century, consisting of three and four lights with horizontal glazing bars. An off-centre axial stack is located with a doorway opposite it. There is a modern extension at the rear. Inside, a winding stair is positioned next to the stack, and the structure includes two queen post trusses with highly cambered ties and arch braces. One ground floor beam features a broach chamfer stop. The building is primarily listed for its surviving queen post roof.
