Description
Sokenholes Farmhouse is a large farmhouse dated 1664, featuring the initials W.M., although some parts of the building are older. It is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar quoins and has a tiled roof. The farmhouse has casement windows with moulded stone architraves and a doorway adorned with stone pilasters, a triglyph frieze, and a pediment that displays the date and initials. On the north wall, there is a projecting stone chimney breast with offsets, flanked by two small windows on each side, which also have stone architraves and dripmoulds. The building is two storeys high and contains five windows. At the rear, there are two projecting wings: one is timber framed with red brick infilling and a blocked stone doorway, while the other likely was once a two-storeyed porch featuring a four-light stone-mullioned window on the first floor and a gable above with a round window.
