Description
Old Masonic Hall is a mid-19th century building located in the grounds of the Red Lion Hotel, currently used as a storeroom. It is two storeys high and constructed of brick. The design features four and a half recessed bays that extend across both the ground and first floors, which are finished with stone-dressed four-centred arches just below the eaves. The window openings have splayed reveals and stone-dressed four-centred heads that match the wall bays. On the west front, the first-floor window includes a three-light Gothic type window frame, while the ground floor has double doors topped with a fanlight. The north wall has a similar design, but the upper storey windows are blocked, and the ground floor has been adapted for other uses. The slate roof extends about two feet at the gable ends, creating a pediment effect.
