Description
No 21 on Hylton Road is a late 18th century, two-storey, four-bay house made of brick, featuring angle pilasters and a cornice band. The roof has been altered and raised at the front to create a moderately low pitch, while at the back, it has a very high pitch, suggesting that the original house dates from the early 17th century or late 16th century. The front roof is slated. The house has early 19th century recessed sash windows with glazing bars, and a six-panel door set in a deep, plain reveal, topped with a cornice hood supported by curved brackets. There is a blocked window above the door, and the west end of the house is tile-hung.
