Description

No 4 The Spain is an early 19th century house that stands two storeys high and features three windows. It has a hipped, slated roof with tiled ridges and plastered walls. The house has recessed sash windows with glazing bars set in plain reveals. The entrance includes a six-panel door topped by a patterned rectangular fanlight, all within a panelled reveal. The doorcase is adorned with reeded pilasters and a simple entablature. To the left, there is a one-storey, one-window extension that contains a door. The building has a return to Hylton Road, designed in a similar style.
