Description

Spain House is an early 19th century house of three storeys and four windows. It has a low-pitched, hipped slate roof with deep eaves soffit. The walls are brick with a stuccoed front, and a rendered plinth. The recessed sash windows have glazing bars, with margin lights on the ground floor, set in plain reveals. A three-step approach leads to a four-panel door with beaded detailing, a cornice head, and a patterned, rectangular fanlight, all within a reveal of fielded panels. The door is surrounded by a Tuscan doorcase with attached columns and a cornice featuring small, paired brackets. The building forms a group with the Coach House and numbers 5 to 9 (odd).
