Description

9 The Spain is a late 16th century or early 17th century house that features an early 18th century brick front, which is now painted. It has a hipped roof with a very high pitch, an off-centre chimney on the ridge, and another chimney located low on the right hip. The house includes late 18th century recessed sash windows with glazing bars, with those on the ground floor positioned under segmental brick arches. Some visible timber framing can be seen on the west wall. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels with lights inserted in the upper panels. The Coach House and Nos 5 to 9 (odd) form a group with this building.
