Description
15 The Spain is a 17th century timber-framed house that has undergone some alterations. It has two storeys and three windows, topped by a high-pitched, half-hipped tiled roof featuring a large, offset chimney on the right side. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is constructed of brick with some ironstone in the lower courses. This is supported on the right side by two massive, sloping brick buttresses. At the center front, there is a canted bay that has been added, extending to full height under the tile-hung gable. The windows are renewed leaded casements, and there are new steps leading to a new door located to the left of center. Recent additions have been made to the rear, using traditional materials and style.
