Description
This is a headstone located in the churchyard of St Nicholas' Church, south of the church, dating from around 1755. It is made of limestone and features a shaped head. The upper part of the headstone has a panel with relief-carved rococo style ornamentation, which includes acanthus scrolls surrounding a putto. Below this, there is an inscription embellished with scrollwork that reads, "In memory of ROWLAND PROWTING who Died July the 27 1755." This headstone is a good example of quality limestone work in the Rococo style.
