Description

This is a headstone dating from 1757, located south of the Church of St Nicholas in Chawton. It is made of small limestone and features a shaped top with a relief carving of a putto. The inscription is in lower case with serifs and reads: "In memory of Ann Frances Prowting, daughter of John and Ann Prowting, who died 1757 aged 9 months."
