Description

This is an 18th-century house located on the south side of The Square. Originally two stories with a steeply pitched roof and dormer windows, it has been altered to three stories with a lower-pitched tiled roof. The front of the building is plastered. It features two windows with canted bays that extend across the lower two stories. The original central doorway has been removed and replaced with a 20th-century “Gothic” window. Weatherboarding has been added below the ground floor windows. The back of the house has been significantly altered, including the addition of a large plate glass window on the second floor. The building is listed primarily for its group value, alongside Nos 24, 26 Sheep Street, and 2, 2A, and 4 The Spain.
