Description

Brickyard Cottage is a house located in Reaps Moor, dating from the early 18th century, with an attached wing from the 19th century. The building features rough-faced coursed stone and red brickwork, topped with a blue machine tile roof and brick end stacks. It stands two storeys tall and is divided into two parts. The main portion, constructed in brick on the right, has two windows with glazing bar sashes and a ledged door to the left, which is sheltered by a hood mould. The lower side on the left is made of 18th-century stone and includes a verge parapet with an end stack, as well as a range of block and dressed two-light square mullioned casement windows. There is a ledged door at the extreme left.
