Description
Hallhill is a farmhouse dated 1838, featuring an earlier rear wing. It is constructed of coursed rough-faced stonework with ashlar dressings and has a blue machine tile roof, complete with verge parapets and end stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan with both front and farm entrances. It is two-storey with a front that has two widely spaced windows. Although the original cast iron Gothic head casement windows were not fitted at the time of the last survey in July 1984, they were present on site. The central entrance includes a boarded door with a block surround and a corbelled hood. Above the entrance, there is a datestone inscribed with "1838." The rear wing features block mullioned windows and a stop-chamfered beam in the interior.
