Description
Fawfieldhead Summerseat is a house dated 1774, featuring an earlier core and later additions. It is constructed of fine coursed stone with block dressings and has a blue machine tile roof. The building consists of two parallel ranges, with the larger range at the rear and stone end stacks. The front is two-storey with two windows and a central entrance. The entrance has raised block dressings surrounding 20th-century casements, a frieze, and a cornice, along with an oval relief datestone above. The right-hand return of the rear range has an earlier door with a moulded surround and low-relief urns at the upper angles, although the left jamb is obscured by the front range. There is also a lower 20th-century wing to the left.
