Description
Moorfield House, along with the right-hand bay of Moorfield Cottage, is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a brick gable end and has a slate roof. The building features a double-depth central-staircase plan, comprising three bays and two storeys. The central entrance has a dressed stone surround. The ground floor includes four and five-light windows, while the first floor has a mix of four, two, and five-light windows. All windows are designed with recessed flat-faced stone mullions. There is a sill band on the first floor and an eaves cornice with a blocking course. The house has gable chimney stacks. At the rear, there are four three-light mullioned windows, a door, and an arched stair window.
