Description

Moorsons House, formerly known as Willowganth, is a house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed from unevenly-coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone, with a more regular appearance on the top floor, which was likely added later. The roof is covered with pantiles and features a stone ridge, copings, and kneelers, along with brick and rendered stacks. The right side of the house is rendered.

The house faces south and has three storeys and an attic, with three irregular bays. An off-centre four-panel door, dated 1630, is set beneath a gabled wooden hood supported by decorative brackets. To the right of the door is a small casement window, and to the left is an 18-pane window with a central opening section. The first floor has early 19th-century sash windows: an 8-pane window on the left, and 12-pane windows in the centre and on the right. The second floor features similar windows, but with an 8-pane sash on the right. There are traces of older stone-mullioned windows visible in the masonry.

At the left end, there is a rendered chimney, while a brick chimney stack remains as a stump on the right. The gable end facing the road on the right side has a six-panel door beneath a bracketed gabled wooden hood.
